L-Mesitran Ointment is a hydroactive antibacterial ointment that cleanses the wound and speeds up healing. The 48% honey it contains, has unique properties for healing and effective fight against bacteria and fungi. 1. Cleanses the wound. The osmotic action of honey "leads" fluid to the wound and promotes the autolytic removal of necrotic tissue while the patch maintains and protects the moist traumatic environment. 2. Fights germs and fungi, controls odor. as well as the formation of a microbe colony. Honey contains glucose which when metabolized, due to bacteria, produces odorless components (carbon dioxide and water). 3. Promotes the healing process. Evidence suggests that honey helps in healing through immune actions and stimulates epithelialization.
